German Reference Point for Quality Assurance in Vocational Training and Education

DEQA-VET stands for German Reference Point for Quality Assurance in Vocational Education and Training, which is a central network point in the European network ENQA-VET (European Network for Quality Assurance in Vocational Education and Training). The Reference Point shall net the stakeholders and institutions of vocational training in Germany, act as a mediator between the national and the European level and comprehensively inform about current developments and initiatives to quality assurance in Germany.
For this purpose a internet portal is designed, which above all shall serve the national stakeholders – the stakeholders in the vocational education and the public administration on State or Federal State level, the social partners and vocational schools, the educational institutions and companies – on the one hand as an information portal concerning the developments in the field of quality assurance and on the other hand to clarify the advantages of the appliance of quality assuring measurements on a national and European level. Thereby it shall not only give information on the stand of the quality assurance in Germany, but also keep records of research activities to the subject matter quality with the goal to promote the communication between education practice, research and education policy. Furthermore interested persons in the European member states shall get the opportunity to get an overview of the field of quality in the vocational education.
The Reference Point acts on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and resides at the Federal Institute for Vocational Training until February 2012.
