Quality Management Dimension

Autodiagnostic questionnaire for determining the level of knowledge/ skills of trainees before the training.

Baseline / problem

The trainees do not have the same level of knowledge/ skills at the beginning of the training and there is very often a difference between what they declare and the real level of their skills.

Good practice: (Measures, instruments, criteria, indicators)

A questionnaire (autodiagnostic) is sent to each trainee. As soon as we receive it, the trainer calls the trainee to check the reality of the diagnostic. The benefit is both the trainer and the trainee. The first one knows exactly which is the level of the trainee and can adjust the training accordingly. The second one knows objectively wich is the level of his/her skills before the training.

Problems and constraints encountered and solutions found:

Sometimes, we have to announce to a trainee that he/she does not have the required level to begin the training and therefore we cannot enroll him/ her to the training group. Other times, the trainee doesn't want to answer the questionnaire and doesn't send it back.
